Born in Paris in 1966, Philippe Bergonzo is a curator, art dealer, and art director who lives and works in Kyoto. From 1990 to 1998, he worked in contemporary art galleries in Paris. In 1998, he curated a series of exhibitions in Japan as part of The Year of France in Japan. After relocating to Japan in 2000, he began organizing exhibitions and cultural exchanges between France and Japan while participating in art fairs across Asia. In 2013, he co-founded the KG+ photo festival, a satellite event of the KYOTOGRAPHIE International Photography Festival. He continues to work on international exhibitions and develops opportunities for artists in both Japan and France.
1966年にパリで生まれたフィリップ・ベルゴンゾは、現在京都に在住し、キュレーター、アートディーラー、アートディレクターとして活動しています。1990年から1998年にかけて、彼はパリの現代美術ギャラリーで働いていました。1998年には、「日本におけるフランス年」の一環として、日本で一連の展覧会をキュレーションしました。2000年に日本に移住後、彼はフランスと日本の間で展覧会や文化交流を企画し、アジア各地のアートフェアにも参加しました。2013年には、KYOTOGRAPHIE国際写真祭のサテライトイベントであるKG+フォトフェスティバルを共同設立しました。現在も国際的な展覧会に携わりながら、日本とフランスのアーティストに新たな機会を提供する活動を続けています。
